About Wild Magic Kennels
At Wild Magic Kennels, we believe training isn’t about control — it’s about communication. Our goal is to give you the tools and confidence to build a calmer, more joyful life with your dog.
We use modern, ethical, science-backed training methods designed to:
-
Reduce stress for both you and your dog.
-
Focus on real-life results that matter in daily life.
-
Strengthen the bond between you and your companion.
-
Create lasting behavior change through structure and consistency.
Dog training is about teamwork — both ends of the leash working together. When you and your dog learn how to respond to each other, life feels calmer, routines get easier, and the bond you share grows stronger.

Getting started with dog training with us is simple. First, schedule your complimentary consultation. We’ll talk through your goals, your dog’s needs, and what life looks like right now. From there, we’ll create a dog training plan that fits your family — one that gives you clear steps and support so you can start seeing progress right away.

Our focus is on building a lasting partnership where both ends of the leash feel confident, calm, and connected.
Welcome to Wild Magic! My name is Emily and I'm passionate about helping people understand their pets!
I have always been a huge animal lover, and from the moment I could talk dogs have been a huge part of my life. I remember as a kid I had a dog breed dictionary and I would make list after list of what dog breeds I was going to have and in what order. When I realized there was no way I could have all of them there may have been tears.

I started volunteering at my local animal shelter when I was 12 and I learned so much walking and playing with the dogs there. My parents eventually let me adopt a puppy from that shelter and she and I had a blast training and showing in our local 4H club.

As I got older I got a job working for an amazing Veterinarian in Hamilton, OH. I learned so much from him and his practice! While I loved my job there my true passion was animal welfare.

I got my first animal shelter job at 21 and spent nearly 10 years in the industry. While there I worked with thousands of dogs and cats and was able to discuss with owners why they were surrendering and with adopters on the traits they were looking for. Pretty early on, I realized I was passionate about helping pet parents create the bond they were looking for with their pets.

I began shadowing our trainers and volunteering to work with our dogs in my off time. Before long I was holding classes for fosters and adopters and eventually taking on clients of my own.

To me there is nothing more satisfying in life than helping a dog and their owner to understand each other. When you see the lightbulbs going off on both sides it is truly magical!

As a trainer I always look at both the dog and the owner and evaluate the best training pathway for them. Every journey is unique and I love creating custom training plans for each of my clients.

While I have a ton of hands on experience training dogs and working with pet owners I do still keep up with other trainers and feel that there is always more to learn. I am working on my CPDT certification and continuing my education is always a top priority.

I look forward to meeting with all of you and helping you and your dog to become the best of friends!

Core Values
Compassion and Kindness
When meeting with new clients it is so important to me that I get to know you and your dog and what you have been going through. I then take that history and create a compassionate training plan that will allow you both to learn and grow as a team!
Patience and Consistency
When training our dogs consistency and patience are really the key to success. There are dogs that pickup new ideas almost instantly and dogs that need a bit more help, but at the end of the day all dogs are trainable. When you work with me we will practice the 3 Ds of dog training which are distance, duration, and distraction. Initially you want all 3 to be at the lowest level possible, but as your dog learns and improves their skills we will slowly ramp things up. This takes patience as it is always very tempting to train your dog to heel and then take them out to an event where they inevitably revert back to pulling. Each step takes time, but the time is worth the rewards.
Empowerment
When most people think of dog trainers they likely think of people working hands on with dogs to train them tricks or commands. That can be true in some situations, but what most private trainers do is empower you, the dog owner, to have the confidence and knowledge to train and manage your dog yourself. For many owners this seems very intimidating, but I promise there is no one out there rooting for you to succeed more than your canine companion, and I will be with you every step of the way!
